Łukasz Piszczek  is a Polish footballer who plays for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and the Poland national team as a right-back, having previously played for Hertha BSC and Zagłębie Lubin.

Piszczek was born in Czechowice-Dziedzice, Bielsko, and raised in Goczałkowice-Zdrój. His father, the coach of the local football club, decided to bring him to one of the training sessions at the age of about 7–8. His brothers, Marek and Adam were also involved in football.

He has been capped over 50 times by Poland at international level from his debut in 2007, and was included in the nation’s squads for three UEFA European Championships.

Piszczek made his first appearance for the Poland national team in a friendly match against Estonia on 3 February 2007. On 6 June 2008, he was added to the Polish squad for UEFA Euro 2008 to replace the injured Jakub Błaszczykowski. He made one appearance, coming on a substitute against Germany, but was injured in the training session for the next match and took no further part in the tournament.[10]

On 29 July 2011, the Polish Football Association imposed a six-month suspension on Piszczek for participation in the fixing of a 2006 match against KS Cracovia match in which he did not play.[11] In September 2011, the suspension was cancelled.

Piszczek played in all three matches of Poland’s Euro 2012 campaign and had a solid performance in Poland’s opener against Greece.

Piszczek scored his first international goal against Ukraine on 22 March, which was quickly followed by his second four days later against San Marino.

Piszczek appeared in four out five matches of Poland’s Euro 2016 campaign. He earned his 50th cap for Poland against Portugal in Poland’s quarter-final defeat.
